The information we collect depends on how you use Matchi and the features you choose to use.

When you create or maintain a Matchi account, we may collect information such as:

C. Matching and Preference Information

Matchi may use automated systems and, where appropriate, human review to detect or investigate spam, fraud, scams, harassment, threats, abuse, illegal activity, or violations of our Terms of Service or community standards.

Private communications are not publicly displayed unless a user chooses to disclose them.

E. Communications With Matchi's AI Features

Matchi provides or may provide artificial intelligence features such as:

• Compatibility insights
• Personalized recommendations

You may control device-level location permissions through your mobile device settings.

Matchi does not intend to publicly display your precise device location to other users unless a feature clearly informs you otherwise.

We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, analyze, and improve Matchi.

H. Subscription and Transaction Information

Matchi may offer free and paid membership levels, including Matchi Plus, Matchi Premium, or other subscriptions and purchases.

Purchases made through the Matchi mobile application may be processed by third-party app marketplaces or payment providers, including Apple or Google. Matchi may receive transaction-related information such as:

• Subscription tier
• Subscription status
• Purchase date
• Renewal date
• Expiration date
• Transaction identifiers
• Receipt identifiers
• Refund status
• Country or region associated with a transaction

When a payment is processed by an app marketplace or third-party payment provider, Matchi generally does not receive or store your complete payment-card information. Those providers may independently process information under their own privacy policies and terms.

3. Matching, Compatibility, and Recommendations

Matchi uses automated systems to help users discover people, content, features, or experiences that may be relevant to them. These systems may consider information such as:

• Compatibility responses
• Previous Matchi activity
• Likes and passes

Matchi may use algorithms, artificial intelligence, machine learning, or statistical techniques in connection with these systems.

Automated recommendations and compatibility assessments are intended to assist discovery. They do not guarantee compatibility, identity, safety, attraction, relationship success, or any particular outcome.

4. Artificial Intelligence Features

Artificial intelligence is an important component of certain Matchi features.

Matchi may provide AI-powered functionality including AI companions, dating assistance, profile assistance, compatibility insights, conversation suggestions, relationship guidance, recommendations, and similar features.

AI features may use information you provide directly as well as relevant Matchi information to generate personalized responses.

Matchi seeks to limit information provided to AI systems to information reasonably necessary to provide the requested functionality.

5. OpenAI and AI Data Processing

Matchi uses technology provided by OpenAI, L.L.C. (“OpenAI”) through the OpenAI API to power certain artificial intelligence features.

When you interact with an applicable Matchi AI feature, Matchi may transmit information to OpenAI so that OpenAI's systems can process the request and generate a response.

A. Information That May Be Sent to OpenAI

Depending on the feature, information transmitted to OpenAI may include:

• The message or prompt you submit
• Relevant portions of your conversation history
• Relevant profile information
• Interests
• Dating preferences
• Relationship preferences
• Compatibility information
• Context necessary to personalize the response
• System-generated instructions necessary to operate Matchi's AI functionality

Matchi intends to limit the information transmitted to information reasonably necessary to provide the applicable AI feature.

B. OpenAI Does Not Train Its General-Purpose Models on Matchi API Data by Default

Matchi accesses OpenAI through its business API services rather than through a user's personal consumer ChatGPT account.

Under OpenAI's API data practices, information submitted through the OpenAI API is not used to train or improve OpenAI's general-purpose models by default unless the API customer affirmatively opts into applicable data-sharing programs.

Matchi does not opt in to allowing Matchi user API inputs and outputs to be used to train OpenAI's general-purpose AI models.

Accordingly, Matchi does not authorize OpenAI to use Matchi user conversations submitted through Matchi's API integration to train OpenAI's general-purpose models.

OpenAI's practices and services may change over time. Matchi may update this Privacy Policy if a material change affects how user information is processed.

C. OpenAI Retention

OpenAI may retain certain API inputs, outputs, or associated information for a limited period for purposes such as abuse monitoring, security, legal compliance, or enforcement of applicable policies.

The duration and circumstances of such retention are governed by OpenAI's applicable API data-retention practices and Matchi's agreements and configuration with OpenAI.

Where available and appropriate, Matchi may implement reduced-retention or zero-data-retention configurations offered by its AI infrastructure providers.

D. Matchi Controls Persistent AI Conversation History

OpenAI is not intended to serve as Matchi's primary system of record for persistent AI conversation history.

Matchi may maintain AI conversation history within Matchi-controlled infrastructure so that AI-powered features can:

• Remember previous conversations
• Maintain conversational continuity
• Provide personalized responses
• Understand relevant user preferences
• Generate more useful recommendations
• Provide a consistent experience across sessions

When necessary to generate a new AI response, Matchi may send relevant portions of this stored context to OpenAI.

Matchi may limit the amount of conversation history or other information transmitted based on technical, privacy, security, and product considerations.

E. Matchi's Use of AI Conversation Data

Matchi may use information from AI interactions to:

• Provide requested AI functionality
• Maintain conversation history
• Personalize responses
• Improve Matchi's user experience
• Evaluate AI feature performance
• Detect technical problems
• Prevent fraud and abuse
• Investigate safety concerns

• Develop and improve Matchi

Matchi may also create aggregated or de-identified information derived from AI interactions for analytics, product development, research, safety, or service improvement.

Matchi will not authorize OpenAI to use identifiable Matchi user conversations to train OpenAI's general-purpose models unless Matchi changes this practice, provides appropriate notice, and obtains any consent required by applicable law.

6. Sensitive Information and AI

Because Matchi is a dating and relationship platform, communications with Matchi's AI features may contain personal or sensitive information. For example, users may voluntarily discuss:

• Relationships
• Dating experiences
• Sexual orientation
• Gender identity
• Personal preferences
• Emotional experiences
• Family or interpersonal matters
• Other aspects of their private lives

Information voluntarily submitted to an AI feature may be processed by Matchi and its AI service providers as necessary to provide the feature.

Users should avoid submitting information that is unnecessary for using Matchi, including:

• Social Security numbers
• Financial-account credentials
• Credit-card numbers
• Passwords
• Government identification numbers
• Other highly sensitive credentials or authentication information

7. AI-Generated Content

AI-generated content may be inaccurate, incomplete, inappropriate, outdated, or misleading.

Matchi does not guarantee the accuracy or reliability of:

• AI-generated advice
• Dating recommendations
• Relationship guidance
• Compatibility assessments
• Conversation suggestions
• Predictions
• Other AI-generated content

AI-generated content is provided for informational and entertainment purposes and does not constitute medical, psychological, psychiatric, legal, financial, or other professional advice.

Users remain responsible for decisions they make based on information provided through Matchi's AI features.

Matchi does not guarantee that an AI-generated recommendation will result in a successful relationship, match, interaction, or other outcome.

8. How We Share Information

We may disclose personal information as described below.

A. Other Matchi Users

Information you choose to include on your Matchi profile may be visible to other Matchi users depending on the Services and your settings. This may include:

• Profile name
• Age
• Photographs
• Biography
• Interests
• General location or approximate distance
• Relationship goals
• Other information you choose to display

Your private account information, such as your email address or phone number, is not intended to be publicly displayed unless you choose to disclose it.

B. Service Providers

Matchi uses third-party service providers to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services. These providers may perform services involving:

• Cloud infrastructure
• Databases
• Authentication
• Artificial intelligence
• Analytics
• Notifications
• Email
• Customer support
• Content moderation
• Security
• Fraud prevention
• Subscription management
• Payment processing

Providers may process information only as necessary to provide services to Matchi, subject to applicable contractual and legal requirements.

C. Artificial Intelligence Service Providers

Matchi uses third-party artificial intelligence infrastructure providers, including OpenAI, to power certain AI features.

When you use these features, Matchi may transmit information necessary to fulfill your request to the applicable AI provider.

These providers process information on Matchi's behalf subject to applicable contractual, privacy, security, and data-processing requirements.

Matchi does not authorize its AI infrastructure providers to use Matchi user data to train their general-purpose artificial intelligence models unless Matchi provides appropriate notice and obtains any consent required by applicable law.

D. Legal and Safety Disclosures

We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is necessary to:

• Comply with law or regulation
• Respond to a subpoena, court order, warrant, or other lawful process
• Respond to lawful government requests
• Investigate suspected fraud or illegal activity
• Protect users from harm

• Protect Matchi's rights, property, or security

E. Business Transactions

If Matchi participates in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction.

Any successor's handling of personal information will remain subject to applicable law and any privacy commitments that continue to apply.

F. With Your Direction or Consent

We may disclose information when you direct, request, authorize, or consent to the disclosure.

9. Selling Personal Information and Targeted Advertising

Matchi does not sell personal information for money.

Certain privacy laws define “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” broadly and may include certain disclosures to advertising, attribution, or analytics providers even where no money is exchanged.

If Matchi engages in activities legally considered a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising, we will provide notices and opt-out mechanisms where required by applicable law.

10. Cookies, SDKs, and Similar Technologies

Matchi and our service providers may use cookies, software development kits (“SDKs”), pixels, local storage, device identifiers, and similar technologies to:

• Authenticate users
• Maintain sessions
• Remember preferences
• Measure application performance
• Understand how Matchi is used
• Diagnose technical problems
• Prevent fraud
• Maintain security
• Improve the Services
• Measure marketing effectiveness where applicable

Where required by law, Matchi will obtain consent before using certain technologies.

11. Data Retention

Matchi retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain safety, enforce agreements, and protect the Services.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why it is processed.

AI conversation history may be retained by Matchi to provide conversational continuity and personalization.

Users may be provided with functionality to delete conversations, reset AI history, or delete their Matchi account.

When you delete your Matchi account, Matchi will delete or de-identify personal information associated with the account within a reasonable period, subject to legitimate exceptions.

Matchi may retain certain information after account deletion where necessary to:

• Comply with law
• Maintain transaction or financial records
• Resolve disputes
• Prevent fraud
• Investigate abuse
• Investigate safety incidents
• Enforce our agreements
• Protect users
• Maintain records concerning users banned for serious violations

Information may temporarily remain in encrypted backups until those backups are overwritten or deleted through normal retention processes.

12. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your Matchi account and associated personal information through functionality provided within Matchi or by contacting us at Privacy@MatchDating.app.

Deleting the Matchi application from your device does not delete your Matchi account.

Deleting an account may also result in the deletion of AI conversation history, profile information, matches, and other account-associated information, subject to applicable legal and safety retention requirements.

Certain information may be retained as described in Section 11.

13. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning your personal information, including the right to:

• Confirm whether Matchi processes your information
• Access your information
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete certain information
• Obtain a portable copy of certain information
• Opt out of certain sales or sharing
• Opt out of targeted advertising
• Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Appeal certain decisions concerning privacy requests

These rights vary by jurisdiction and may be subject to legal exceptions.

Matchi processes sensitive personal information as reasonably necessary to provide requested features, personalize the Services, maintain safety and security, comply with law, and perform other legally permitted activities.

Users should carefully consider what sensitive information they choose to make publicly visible.

Matchi uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, misuse, or loss. These safeguards may include:

Matchi's OpenAI API credentials and other private service credentials are maintained within Matchi-controlled server-side infrastructure and are not intended to be exposed within the publicly distributed mobile application.

However, no application, database, network, storage system, or electronic transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users are responsible for protecting their account credentials and should promptly notify Matchi if they believe their account has been compromised.

16. User Safety

Matchi may provide functionality allowing users to:

• Block another user
• Unmatch
• Report another user
• Report messages or content
• Contact Matchi concerning safety concerns

Users should exercise caution when interacting with people they meet through Matchi.

Matchi cannot guarantee another user's:

• Identity
• Background
• Intentions
• Conduct
• Safety
• Accuracy of information

Do not disclose information such as your home address, financial-account credentials, Social Security number, passwords, or other information that could expose you to fraud, identity theft, or physical harm.

17. Children's Privacy

Matchi is intended only for individuals who are 18 years of age or older.

Individuals under 18 are not permitted to create Matchi accounts.

Matchi does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 18 through authorized accounts.

If we learn that an individual under 18 has created an account, we may suspend or terminate the account and take reasonable steps to delete associated information.

18. International Users

Matchi may use infrastructure and service providers located in countries other than the country where you reside.

As a result, personal information may be processed in jurisdictions with different data-protection laws.

If Matchi offers Services to individuals subject to the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), United Kingdom GDPR, or similar laws, additional disclosures concerning legal bases, international transfers, automated processing, and data-subject rights may apply.

19. U.S. State Privacy Rights

Residents of certain U.S. states may have additional privacy rights.

Depending on Matchi's activities and applicable statutory thresholds, these rights may include:

If you enable push notifications, Matchi may send notifications concerning:

You may control push-notification permissions through your device settings and, where available, Matchi settings.

22. Email and Marketing Communications

Matchi may send transactional or service-related communications necessary to operate your account.

Where permitted by law, Matchi may also send promotional communications.

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails through the unsubscribe mechanism included in those communications.

Even if you unsubscribe from marketing communications, Matchi may continue sending necessary non-promotional communications concerning your account, transactions, security, privacy, or material changes to the Services.

23. Aggregated and De-Identified Information

Matchi may create aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information from information collected through the Services. Matchi may use such information for:

• Analytics
• Research
• Product development
• AI feature evaluation
• Safety
• Security
• Business planning

Where required by applicable law, Matchi will maintain de-identified information in de-identified form and will not attempt to re-identify it except as legally permitted.

Matchi may update this Privacy Policy periodically.

When changes are made, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.

If a change materially affects your privacy rights or how Matchi processes personal information, Matchi may provide additional notice through the application, email, or another appropriate method as required by law.

If Matchi materially changes its practices concerning the use of user information for artificial intelligence model training, Matchi will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notice or obtain any consent required by applicable law.
